Meet Me on Manners was produced over the New Zealand summer of 2008/09. The film follows two protagonists, Malice and Dee, who regularly spend time at Manners Mall and who are immersed in one of the youth sub-cultures of the Mall, a pedestrian only street in Wellington City. The film is an ethnographic film and therefore attempts to capture and communicate culture to an audience through an unbiased lens. The film looks at different aspects of the protagonists’ lives including education, how they fund their lifestyle, their living situation, how they perceive themselves within our society, and how they spend their time, amongst other things. The film is narrated through interviews with the protagonists and the style of the film aims to emulate their lifestyle. The film contains offensive language.
